Our take
For a family of teenagers this is the best single day in Orlando: VelociCoaster, Hagrid’s and Hulk in one park. It also works for mixed ages because Seuss Landing is built for the smallest riders. The trick is to split up: thrill riders in one direction, little ones in the other, meet in Hogsmeade for lunch.
Who it works for
Little ones
- Seuss Landing: the Caro-Seuss-el and the High in the Sky Trolley (36 in)
- Camp Jurassic, a big play area
- Pteranodon Flyers lets kids from 36 in ride with an adult
Big kids
- The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man (40 in)
- Jurassic Park River Adventure (42 in)
- Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges, a soaking (42 in)
Teens
- Jurassic World VelociCoaster (51 in)
- Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure (48 in)
- The Incredible Hulk Coaster (54 in), the tallest minimum at Universal
Grandparents and a slower pace
- Hogsmeade, Butterbeer and the shops are the gentle highlight
- Most of the park is busy and loud by afternoon; mornings are easier

Heights are checked with shoes on. Every ride not listed has no minimum height. Riders under 48 in at Universal need a companion 14 or older.
Game plan from ChampionsGate
- Hagrid's has the longest line in the resort. Ride it first or late.
- Pack a change of clothes: three of the rides here will soak you.
- Riders between the minimum and 48 inches must ride with someone 14 or older.
